Fattoria Valacchi

Fattoria Valacchi is located in the heart of Chianti, halfway between Florence and Siena in the town of Barberino Val d’Elsa. The property covers 58 hectares, of which twelve are used for vineyards and another twelves for olive trees. Their production focuses on traditional grapes, Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Colorino and Malvasia but important vineyards have been devoted to Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah for their Super Tuscan ‘Valicaia’.


CHIANTI

DOCG Chianti. 100% Sangiovese aged in stainless steel. Traditional style Chianti with aromas of ripe red fruit and a balance of tannin and acid on the palate. Tech Sheet


CHIANTI GELSO

DOCG Chianti. 95% Sangiovese and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon make for a more modern Chianti aged in second passage barrique for 12 months. Notes of violet and cherry on the nose carry into a silky tannin on the palate. Tech Sheet


CHIANTI RISERVA

DOCG Chianti Riserva. 90% Sangiovese and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon fermented in stainless steel and aged in oak tonneaux for 18-20 months. Concentrated currant and blackberry with toasted hints give way to a lush palate with persistent tannins. Tech Sheet


SUPER TUSCAN

IGT Toscana. 60% Sangiovese, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot. Cultivars selected from the oldest vineyards and aged for 24 months in a combination of new and second passage barrique. Garnet hints in the glass with notes of Marasca cherry and tobacco on the nose while black pepper and ripe red fruit stand out on the palate. Tech Sheet
